From Rifugio Capanna 2000(Hut) go walk a short stretch downhill on 221 path till a signpost (about 1935 m). Then head north (tuning right), cross a valley (Val d'Arera) and go on along the hillside, heading toward the beginning of Valvedra Valley.
In the past the path was beginning in Zambla Alta (about 1150m) and following the motorway was leading (after about 4km along the hillside) to the departure station of the old chairlift (Plassa village - about 1 hour). Now we suggest to start the walk from Plassa, or drive the car till the end of the public road (1600 m) to a parking area. (the time is calculated from this point).
From Rifugio Capanna 2000 (Hut at 1960 m) climb shortly northward heading the top of Pizzo Arera (peak). Turn left (north) crossing the Arera Valley leaving the path leading to the top. The path crosses screes and pastures with very interesting and nice plants and flowers (this stretch of the path is a part of the famous “Sentiero dei Fiori” (Flower Trail) - explanatory plates along the trail).
